Duke - UNC Mens Lacrosse



CHAPEL HILL, N.C.— Sophomore midfielder Justin Turri scored three goals and added one assist to lead 10th-ranked Duke to a 12-8 victory over eighth-ranked North Carolina at a rain-soaked Kenan Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils outscored the Tar Heels 9-4 in the second half as Duke had 10 players with at least one point.

The Blue Devils improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in ACC play while the Tar Heels fall to 7-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.


Duke vs Harvard Mens Lacrosse


DURHAM, N.C.—Harvard University used a four-goal run late in the third quarter to upset fifth-ranked Duke University, 9-6, in men’s lacrosse action this afternoon at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils were led by Steve Schoeffel and Brad Ross with two goals apiece.

Duke’s six goals are the fewest by the Blue Devils since an 11-5 loss to Maryland on May 1, 2005. It also marks just the fourth time Duke has lost by more than one goal since the beginning of the 2005 campaign. Duke (2-1) is now 30-2 all-time in the month of February.



The Harvard defense kept the Blue Devils out of sync, allowing Duke just 29 shots for the game, including just seven in the first half.

Duke vs Colgate Mens Lacrosse

DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University senior Brad Ross scored a goal with 2:51 left in the fourth quarter to lift the fifth-ranked Blue Devils to a 9-8 victory over No. 15 Colgate. Ross finished the day with two scores, scoring the first and last goals of the contest.

The win is the second for the Blue Devils over a top-20 opponent this season. Senior Ned Crotty led Duke for the second straight week with four points from two goals and two assists. Five other players scored a point in the game.

Colgate senior Brandon Corp led all players with five points off of four goals and one assist. Classmate Kevin Colleluori added three scores and a helper to the cause.
